He passed away in 2024 and the model was donated by his son Andrew Jenkins in 2023, honouring his father’s wish to keep the engine in Alberta. .
AMES Raised Track team has now taken it over for completion and comissioning.

Additional Information:

The Number 70026 denotes a specific British Railways Class 7 locomotive (the first number of the 70026). There were 54 locomotives of this class built from 1951 on and designed for mixed traffic (both freight and express passenger). They were stationed all around the then British Railways system. 70026 was based at Cardiff in South Wales.

The model kit was acquired by Ian Jenkins in the early 1990s. The WINSON company is no longer in business.
