David Jennings of HIGHER CALLING UAV was invited to capture some images and video clips for Iron Horse Park for use on our social media and website. Dave remarked that "This park is an amazing hidden gem in Airdrie and has been around for 25+ years. It is run by an incredible group of volunteers and train enthusiasts. A ton of fun for a Sunday escape or kid's birthday bash." Here is a link to the video Dave produced. |

A 17 minute Video. The annual "Frostbite Run" at Iron Horse Park in Airdrie, Alberta, Canada.
Operated by the Alberta Model Engineering Society, the park is a public facility to learn
about railways and railway safety while enjoying a trip around the park on the 7 1/2" gauge
railway. This turned out to be a really good trip with plenty of shots of our other trains and even a cameo from a full scale CP train at the 6 1/2 minute mark. . |

Featured on the cover of Live Steam Magazine Sept / Oct 2016 issue, Ernie Beskowiney put approximately 7 years and 35,000 hours into the design and construction of this flawless 7.5" gauge live steam locomotive. It is nearly entirely CNC'd out of stainless steel and is slightly larger than 1/8 scale. The operating pressure is 150 PSI and develops about 483lbs of tractive effort. It has pulled a train of 48 people without blinking. Here is Ernie firing up and running the locomotive at the Bitter Creek Western railroad. |
